On my most recent escapade, I had been to Goa, the haven for the lassophiles. While the excitement of being in Goa was enough to get me ready for travel, for the proper Goa vibe, and to stay close to the sea it was necessary to look for the accommodations and restaurants that could satisfy my inner oenophile. With all my bookings sorted and in a complete holiday mood I reached Goa with hopes of having the best days of the year.
Although throughout my five days in Goa, I was specific about trying out new things every day whether it be food, location, or drink, what remained constant for all my Goa evenings was Titlie, an artsy restaurant by the beach. What I found unmatchable in Titlie is the quintessence of the Goan vibe that it had wonderfully captured through its location and ambiance. My Goa evenings were spent in the comfort and the eventful environment of Titlie and had left an everlasting impression on me.
What makes Titlie incredible is its location and ambiance. Located by the seaside it provides the perfect view of the mystical horizons of Goa. It is an open arrangement that can be the best hideout from the crowded beaches while being close to it. However, for me, my most prized memory of Goa is that of watching the setting sun with a drink in my hand and relaxing on the couch of Titlie.
Parallel to the serenity, Titlie prepares one of the most happening nightlife of Goa with music and delicious foods for those who want to skip pub hopping. Music and Goa are quite synonymous for they are inseparable and Goa without music is unimaginable. It’s a place where one can find oneself drowning in the ecstasy of good food, wine, and music.
Titlie maintains the vibrancy and the essence of Goa through its decor and presentation with bamboo and banana trees. The cane furniture along with the bamboo shades bring you close to nature and this was something that intrigued me the most. To balance the beige-colored cane furniture and to add some greenery, indoor plants are introduced. The big green indoor banana leaves and ferns created a refreshing environment and are a perfect addition to the beach-facing dine-out. My quotidian visits to the restaurant during my stay allowed me the privilege to meet Mr. Kartik Dhingra, the man behind the vision. Yes, you got it correct there, he is the Titlie restaurant founder.
I was drooling over the poetic canvas of Ozran Beach while sipping on the Sangria from the spectacular collection of the restaurant, however, being in Goa and missing out on the food was definitely not my aspiration. Food was also one important factor that kept me attracted to Titlie as the management has made sure that the guests are exposed to an array of locally produced food by some of the best chefs in Goa. Good food has always been my weakness and I don’t mind wandering across places in search of a delicious and mouth-watering platter.
Titlie is a gastronomical melting pot with chefs bringing a piece of their authenticity to the items on the menu. Titlie presents a blend of tastes that tickles the taste buds with an explosion of flavors. That said, with the privilege of traveling with a group, I got to taste bits and pieces of most of the dishes that the restaurant has to offer.
What would travel to Goa means without tasting the diverse drinks available? Since all my gastronomical fancies were entertained by Titlie, the drinking endeavor also took place majorly in the exquisite bar on the property. I must say, that Mr. Kartik Dhingra, Titlie bar owner has a rich appetite for liquor as the collection included blended scotch and Gin to Wine and expensive Champagnes. They had it all! I particularly tasted the Aperitifs that worked wonders in stimulating my cravings for good food.
Final Word
To sum it all I had the best time of my Goa evenings amidst the tranquil environment and the soothing music in Titlie with great food and intoxicating drinks. For me, this restaurant has presented Goa in its truest essence with the sea serving the best background for all the activity around the restaurant just as the night falls.
So, will I visit Titlie again on my next Goa trip? Well, that’s a yes without batting an eye. The noise and beats of the pubs are not my things and so Titlie was my perfect hideout in Goa with great food and live performances. If you are one of my league, pay a visit, and if not, still pay a visit to experience the difference.
